Hello and welcome to Keyzpark Calisthenics Club.
Calisthenics combines elements from gymnastics, dance, singing and stage performance. Our Club aims to perform as well as we can in our chosen sport, whilst at the same time having a lot of fun and enjoying the wonderful attributes calisthenics has to offer. One of the special features of any sport is the opportunity to socialise and make new friends. We look forward to getting to know you over the coming months. It is the people that participate in a team that make a happy club and add so much of the shared good times.

Pupil skills are an examination system set by the Australian Calisthenics Federation (ACF). Students are required to learn set routines using correct technique and knowledge of the terminology used within the Calisthenics syllabus. Pupil skills are beneficial to all pupils, as the aim is to improve overall Calisthenics technique.
Pupil skills are also a prerequisite to be eligible to compete in Calisthenic solo and duo competitions and to enrol into the cadet teaching training course. It is recommended that you daughter commences their Skills in the Sub Junior age group as this will assist and develop their technique which will be used throughout their Calisthenic career.
The exam is presented to an Adjudicator and each pupil will most likely be with another pupil from another club.
Proper exam attire is required, being a black leotard, hair in a neat bun and no makeup.
The next set of Skills Exams will be held from May 25th until June 18th 2014 and exams will be held on Monday 9th June which is the long weekend. The exam is generally held at a location in Chelsea but may change. Dates for the exam are released in May and you will be notified as soon as we receive these. The cost to sit the exam itself starts from $31.00 and this payment is due by the first class.
This year we will be offering Tests 3 and above. We will commence classes in late March and will only run these if we have enough pupils to fill a class. The class prices will be determined once we know how many girls will be attending. There will be approximately 8 classes before the exam.
You will be provided with the syllabus, dvd and the music to practise at home.
If you have any reservations or questions regarding the benefit of the skills program, please talk to your coach and they will be able to talk this over with you and decide which level is best suited for your child. Each girl who has participated in this program so far has benefited from the experience and the one-on-one attention to detail.
Cut-off date to enter the exam is 12th March 2014.
